Tuscan Organisation

  Company Culture

The Tuscan Organisation has an atmosphere and culture that is very different from most companies. The mix of enthusiasm, motivation and goal orientation is very unusual in a business environment and often new people are very surprised by the atmosphere of the company sometimes mistaking the fun element and relaxed attitude as a lack of ambition or seriousness. This couldn't be further from the truth because, in fact, we are more fired up about creating success than most organisations.

We operate what is known as a "no seniority" policy which in simple terms means that you don't have to wait for the person ahead of you to progress for you to be able to move ahead. We all have heard stories or have experienced being stuck in a position waiting for someone else to move on so that we could benefit and nothing is more demotivating than your future being taken out of your hands. Our open office approach and promotional structure allows us to spot ambitious people and fast track their success.

It really is a case of "you get out what you put in" in terms of development and progression, some individuals are very happy working in the sales programme and enjoy long and successful careers in this role while others are more interested in progression from day one and focus on management from the word go. The rate of progression in the organisation entirely depends on the individual with some people flying through our business development programme in a matter of months and some taking longer, again it really is up to the individual.

It is common that some people literally wave hello in the morning and goodbye in the evening when the day is done while others take extra time out of each day to gather information that will help them progress in the organisation - both are happily accepted and catered for.

What is incredibly exciting is that most people find that as their confidence and experience grows within the organisation so do their goals and they begin to raise their sights and focus on achieving more and more. We have many cases of people starting as summer students or in a temporary role with no long term career intentions that are now some of our most successful managers.

There are many travel opportunities for all involved in the company and it is not uncommon to hear from people who have only been with the company for a matter of months telling of 2 or 3 trips to other European countries so that they could visit other offices or attend meetings - in some cases the trips may be right across the globe to Australia.

Who gets to go? We have a very open attitude towards ambition, ambitious individuals who show the right approach and intensity to succeed often get extra help and coaching and these trips are one of the benefits.

There are an incredible number of educational meetings held by the organisation all over Europe including some major conventions with anything between 600 and 4000 people, these are our equivalent of the Oscars and are always a huge event.

Annually there are opportunities to attend a Rest and Relaxation weekend which is held during May at various 5 star resorts across Europe, again the focus of these events is to share information and allow team members to network to further their own success.

There is a huge focus on team building activities and again it is up to you how much or little you want to be involved from days out go-karting, bowling, sky diving, paint balling or just a night out with the team.

We place a lot of importance on motivating our team and it is no surprise that there are many incentives available for great performance including iPods, cash prizes, holidays, international trips, clothing vouchers, electrical goods and lots more.

What type of people work in the company? Well we have people from all backgrounds and walks of life but generally you will find that the average age is between 20 and 40 although our oldest office manager is 57, age isn't important it's your attitude that counts. We like to see people that have an open mind, positive approach and who enjoy a challenge and some healthy competition.

People are often very surprised but also inspired at the same time to note how young some of the most successful people in our business are, one of our managers is only 25 years old, manages over 200 people and is already driving a Ferrari!

The reason that age and experience are not a factor for us is that we put importance and focus not on your work history and previous achievements but instead we look at your potential and what you can bring to our team. This is why we have developed so many people from scratch, with no previous sales or business experience that have become incredibly successful. There are so many success stories to tell of people who started just looking to get a position to fill the time and pay their bills that are now amazingly successful.

A typical day at our company involves either being part of training meetings or even delivering them depending on what level you are at. Each morning there is a chance to hear from the office manager delivering a motivational or inspirational meeting which really sets up the day - the focus is usually on how to progress or customer service. Every day of course includes the opportunity to speak with potential new customers for the clients we represent and is finished with a short meeting to conclude the day. Part of the initial coaching includes evaluating the day and all questions are answered so that people have the chance to learn and progress. If it sounds different from most businesses that's because it is and that's why our results are so different from other businesses. One thing is for sure, it's never boring and no two days are ever exactly the same.

Of course the main daily focus is to develop the skill set of our team and this could include working on any of the following areas:

  • Sales Skills
  • Product Training
  • Customer Service
  • Team Building
  • Coaching Skills
  • Public Speaking Skills
  • Administration
  • Recruitment
  • Communication Skills
  • Presentation Skills
  • Organisational Skills
  • Industry Knowledge
  • Problem Solving
  • Marketing Techniques
  • Business Strategy

Ultimately our aim is to create success in our people by taking the time to coach and develop them and it is this goal that has shaped the company culture. It is a proven educational fact that people learn more when they enjoy the subject and it is delivered in an exciting fashion by an enthusiastic teacher. This simple fact explains the atmosphere we have created because everything we do is geared towards developing great people.
